Ballet-bot

Some people might remember this guy, I created him (or her) for the Master & Servant challenge a while back & never got round to finishing him.

With the new challenge under way & such a fantastic topic, I instantly wanted to join in... However, I've entered so many challenges & not finished, that I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't even THINK about strange behaviour until I'd finished this guy off, so here it is!

I made some changes to my original composition, the 'Master' character is gone & the robot is now dancing on an oil drum. I changed the design slightly too, making the robot more beaten & dirty. I wanted there to be a stark contrast between the filthy world the robot lives in & the world of a ballerina.

Modelling was done in Max 7 & Max 9, rendered in V-Ray 1.5 & all textures created and/or manipulated in Photoshop. The bases for many of the textures came from www.environment-textures.com - an excellent resource - and some were from many, many photos I've taken over the years.

The final image is about 3500 pixels high, so I'll post some close up crops later on...

As this is the first personal project I've completed in about 5 years, feedback would be most welcome!
